About Chasing Dreams Dance Center, Dance School
in the Berkshires
What We Believe
Chasing Dreams Dance Center was started with the goal of providing a dance studio in our community that is inclusive to all with a family feel. We strive to provide a high quality dance education from knowledgeable and supportive instructors. Dance classes are available for ages 2 through adult, in all levels from beginner to advanced with recreational and competitive tracks. Our class offerings are acro, ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, tap, pointe, and tango.
We strongly believe that all dancers should be uplifted, encouraged, and lovingly corrected in a way that does not diminish self esteem. We focus on building our students' confidence and self-esteem by keeping our class sizes small and really getting to know each dancer's strengths and unique abilities. We want the dance studio to feel like a second home to the dancers, and the dancer’s teachers and friends like extended family. Dancing truly builds lifelong friendships. We focus on teaching our students the importance of teamwork, good sportsmanship, and perseverance along with their dance technique. Our goal is to help shape our students into amazing dancers who are also kind, supportive of others, and confident in themselves.
Founder & Director
Miss Jackie
Miss Jackie is the Owner/Director of Chasing Dream Dance Center, as well as the instructor for the majority of the studio’s classes. She began dancing at the age of two, spending the majority of her free time at her aunt’s dance studio where she fell in love with dance. Miss Jackie learned every style of dance and was a member of their competition team. After many years of dancing she became a teaching assistant, later taking on her own classes.
Starting in her teens, Miss Jackie began working for a national dance competition where she has been able to gain behind the scenes experience of what it takes to run a competition, meet dancers with diverse talent from all over the country, and eventually had the opportunity to become an adjudicator. After moving to the Berkshires she taught dance for 5 years at a local dance studio. Along with teaching classes, Miss Jackie choreographed competition and recital dances for dancers with a wide range of experience.
As a little girl she always imagined taking over her aunt's studio one day. In 2019 Miss Jackie made the decision to leave the studio she had been teaching at to go after her long time dream of opening her own studio that better aligned with her values and beliefs as a dance educator.
Miss Jackie feels that it is extremely important to stay up to date with her dance knowledge. She is a certified Acrobatics Arts instructor, certified Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) instructor, regularly takes dance classes in the Albany area, and attends dance teacher training events to enhance her knowledge as an educator. Dance is constantly evolving; therefore, teachers must adapt and evolve as well to give their students the best education possible. She also provides her teaching staff with training opportunities so they can grow as educators.
Miss Jackie is looking forward to sharing her love of dance with all of you!
